Island Vibes June 2026

IslandVibesIOP.com 26 A Tango is the definition of “golden retriever energy.” He’s goofy, playful and the type of dog who believes every person he meets is his new best friend. His dad Conor gave his nephew the honor of choosing a name, and together they landed on Tango – adorably named after Elmo’s dog from “Sesame Street.” Conor got Tango as an 8-week-old puppy from a friend in Ladson whose dog recently had a litter. Since then, the tiny fluff ball has grown into what Conor described as an “aggressively friendly” adventure buddy with quite the personality and a face that’s impossible not to love. “He’s wild, but the absolute sweetest boy,” Conor said. Tango’s favorite activities involve anything outdoors. A perfect day for him starts with a truck ride before heading straight to the beach, where he can swim, sprint through the sand, blow bubbles in the waves and greet everyone (human and dog) in sight. On the way home, he’s more than happy to stop for a pup cup before settling in for a nap. The cherry on top of Tango’s perfect day would be a visit from Grandma. And the piece de resistance? A full container of her home-made treats: ice cream sandwiches and peanut butter cookies. One of Conor’s favorite things about Tango is the joy he brings to everyday moments. “He’s always happy to see you,” he said. “Coming home to his smiling face and wiggly tail just makes my day a million times better.” The pair spend plenty of time exploring and adventuring together at the beach and state parks, but he is equally happy relaxing at home. Wherever Conor is, Tango is happiest. He’s got some strange habits, like sleeping on his back with all four legs stretched out in every direction, completely unbothered and taking up as much space as possible. At the beach Tango has another signature quirky move. He loves sticking his snooter into the water and blowing bubbles. Like many young dogs, Tango has also had his share of mischief and mayhem. Unfortunately, his curiosity has landed him at the vet on more than one occasion. He had to have stomach surgery after swallowing a sock as a puppy. As fun as eating that sock was, Conor said Tango was definitely not thrilled about the vet exposing his bare belly after having to shave his fluffy golden fur. He didn’t exactly learn his lesson the first time. About a year later, Tango somehow managed to do it again, this time eating part of a bath mat which led to another vet trip and a second surgery. Thankfully, Conor said Tango has calmed down since then, and the days of emergency vet FROM KING STREET TO THE COAST Amy Rogers Owner / Broker-In-Charge +1 843 824 4892 amy@crowncoast.com Crown Coast Properties 1100 Palm Blvd #2C Isle of Palms, SC 29451 hello@crowncoast.com crowncoast.com Led by Amy Rogers, Crown Coast Properties combines sharp market expertise with personalized service for Charleston’s most discerning buyers and sellers.
