No one else comes close to touching what he has done with the amount of litter collected here.” In the past six years, the Cleanup Crew has collected and documented 180,000-plus litter items, utilizing thousands of volunteers. “Howard, who regularly travels from Moncks Corner to the island to pick up litter on his own, has more than 200,000 documented items in the Litter Journal for Isle of Palms during that same period,” Smith said. “And that's just a fraction of the million items he has documented across the Lowcountry. His numbers are really astounding."
