This unique collaboration brings together a diverse ensemble of musicians, each drawing from distinct musical backgrounds, including rock, blues, classical, jazz and jam band influences. FORTY MILE DETOUR When: 2/8 from 7-10 p.m. Forty Mile Detour describes its sound as Americana that draws from many American music styles, incorporating elements of blues, rock ‘n’ roll, folk and bluegrass. DAVE LANDEO When: 2/9 and 2/23 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and 2/14 from 7-10 p.m. Landeo has played everything from festivals, wedding receptions, corporate events, holiday parties, fraternity/sorority events, birthdays, tailgates and anything in between. Her music is an explosive mix of life, time, feeling and emotion. Isle of Palms Exchange Club Oyster Roast WHEN: 3/8 from 2-6 p.m. WHERE: IOP Exchange Club The IOP Exchange Club Oyster Roast will once again feature the large familystyle, festival atmosphere we all know and love. Featuring single select oysters, Southern-style chili and hot dogs, live music from Dave Landeo, a silent auction and waterfront dining with stunning views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs for youth education and fund scholarships. Lowcountry Oyster Festival WHEN: 2/2 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. WHERE: Boone Hall Plantation The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is the world’s largest oyster festival. Highlights include live music, raw oyster eating and shucking contests, wine, a selection of domestic and imported beers, specialty cocktails, a children’s area (“Pluff-aPalooza”) and a food court showcasing a variety of local favorite restaurants to satisfy everyone’s taste. Community Wellness Fair WHEN: 2/21 from 7-11 a.m. WHERE: IOP Rec Center The Isle of Palms Recreation Department, in partnership with East Cooper Medical Center, invites the community to attend a Community Wellness Fair. Over 20 health care professionals and specialists from the Charleston area will be on hand to answer questions and provide resources on various aspects of health, wellness and fitness. East Cooper Medical Center will offer free cholesterol and glucose screenings to attendees. Admission is free. Front Beach Fest WHEN: 3/1 from noon to 4 p.m. WHERE: Front Beach The City of Isle of Palms invites people of all ages for a day of dancing, eating and fun on Ocean Boulevard. This free event will feature music from Vinyl Daze and the Shem Creek Boogie Band. The afternoon’s activities will include handmade arts and crafts from over 40 local vendors. Island restaurants and other local food vendors will fill the street, offering their favorite dishes.
